What are the current names you have in game?:

UNSCA PFC Anderson
HoJ Storm Jah Kee Chan

How long have you been a part of the server?: Off and on since 2019.

Do you have any bans/warnings?: Yes.
-What were these bans for?:

Without access to my admin logs (or the knowledge to get to them) I'm not sure/care to remember.

What is your age? [Minimum 15]: 25.

Do you have a microphone? [Required]: Yes.

Do you have TeamSpeak? [Required]: Yes.
-What is your name in TeamSpeak?: Birddog6

Do you have Discord? [Required]: Yes.
-What is your discord ID?: BILLYMAYSHERE#6700

Are you currently staff on a different server? Are you willing to leave that staff position for the one you are applying for?:

No, I am not staff on another server, nor am I involved with another server.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Experience with staffing [ULX, other servers, etc.]:

I was a GM and staff on a now-defunct server, years ago. But I've written campaigns and with factions on several forum rps, including several events that incorporated upwards of 10 writers at a time, if not more.

How active are you on the server?:

Very, daily, if not every other day.

When are you usually available? [Days of Week/Time/Time zone]:

Weekends, Early Afternoons EST. I work night shift, so I'd be able to accommodate for the UK playerbase during the week, and then the EST/US timezones on the weekends.

What do you believe to be your best qualities that can contribute to being a Gamemaker?:

My writing ability and my storytelling.

What do you plan to do as a Gamemaker?:

Write good stories and populate better roleplaying on the server.

What 10 Commands do you know about that are in SAM and what exactly do they do?:

I'm more familiar with the ULX admin tools, but after watching the video available on it I'm sure I can get used to it just as easily.

What is In character and what is Out of character?:

In character- Your character says it.
Out of Character - You say it.

Do you believe you are able to work with a myriad of different people, some of which may have different opinions than yours?:

Yes.

What do you believe the job of a Gamemaker entails?:

Enhance server experience through tailored events while expanding on player characters, keeping people interested in the server, and providing a challenge for more experienced players, while making new players have a fun and interesting experience compared to other GMOD RPs+Game modes. My main focus is keeping the new players interested, and making people want to log on a second time if it's their first event.

Give us a full event idea that you have. [3+ Paragraphs]:

The event opens with a particularly gruff-looking Colonel, walking around the base/ship for a moment, only announcing his flight has landed. In fact- he hasn't even introduced himself to the Commanding Officer yet. The only person with him is a Black-clad operator of sorts, though without an insignia or rank, and a lack of speech, the presence of the Colonel sparks some debate. He goes around each facility, stopping to briefly speak (in chat) to various groups. He seems to have a soft spot for the Marines and Army personnel, and is overall a friendly character. His operative (played by someone else), continually whispers in his ear and taps his watch, and other small signs that the Colonel cannot stay. The Colonel walks around the base, drumming up some conversation and attention prior to the briefing, but without announcing himself.

He calls everyone to the briefing room, and seems befuddled by having to constantly turn around. In a small sample of undoing what is regular done, he lowers himself down, and orders everyone to stand in a half-circle in front of him, not liking how they separate themselves (but moreso a light comical moment where he continually turns around, unsure of who to speak to directly). He calms down and begins to explain during the briefing.

He seems sad, stopping for a moment that he has to order them to do this. What was originally thought as Insurrectionists, have confirmed to be Intel Reports of former UNSC personnel stealing equipment, arms, and ships. They have put out a manifesto listing the UNSC's decision to ally with the Elites and former Covenant as a key reason for their rebellion, and wish to establish their own nation-state.

A key detail given during the briefing is that most of these former Marines and Soldiers are from Reach. (Once on the ground, any captured members or intercepted radio transmissions will be in Hungarian, and any Consoles, datapads, etc. Captured soldiers will refuse to speak English. The map will take place on one of our urban maps, with a more dense, intense feeling. The NPCs will also not be using the high-damage setting they've been using recently.

The ultimate tasking is to blow up their fuel depot that they've been using, crippling their ability to launch ships in space and limit their operations to a local zone.

The main focus of this event will be on the Marines and Soldiers, Lima and Chimera. The event will utilize roughly 4-5 "Helpers". One helper will need to be a player/GM with a decent ability to write quickly.

The first Objective will be take a beachhead- secured by ODSTs, Spartans, and other SF units. They will drop in pods, and secure an LZ- pushing back a light infantry force consisting of soldiers with Assault Rifles, and a few heavy machine gun emplacements (operated by player-controlled soldiers). After securing the LZ and establishing security, Falcons will fly escorts of Pelicans into the LZ. While the Marines are landing, sporadic engagements will harass the ODSTs/Spartans to keep them on their toes. If the Spartans or ODSTs become complacent or veer off of their objective, mortar strikes and snipers will begin to pickup on the LZ securing team due to their inability to listen to commands from higher.

After Chimera and Lima land and organize into a defensive position (this will also give the GM time to set up the NPCs at the enemy position), Command will give them the order to attack the enemy outpost and positions. This part of the event will focus on tight, focus urban combat. The player-controlled enemies (save for two) will harass the players. If the Marines and Soldiers go off of their objective, mortar strikes and snipers will target the players going off-course. Climbing on top of buildings will get them sniped- the enemy has the high ground and dug in positions, and getting on top of rooftops will get them quickly sniped.

The Assault team can avoid the sniper interdiction by:

-Using Air Support to suppress enemy snipers
-Setting up Counter-sniper teams/Directing DMs/Snipers to find the enemy
-Using other methods to detect or harass the snipers specifically.

In the middle of the attack, comms are slowly jammed, radio transmissions become impossible after a while. Broken and unreadable for a while.

-If the players do not attempt to re-establish comms, there will be three attempts by the Colonel (GM) to re-establish comms.
-Players can accomplish this by Roleplaying a solution (leaving it open-ended and reasonable, just setting it to a different frequency won't do, but using one of the dead enemy's comms, etc)

If comms are reestablished, or after the enemy is effectively suppressed, command is able to get a one way transmission to them. Command then directs the Spartans and ODSTs to another section, to where they believe the enemy's jamming equipment is set up. The Special Forces units encounter heavy resistance, and eventually will take the jamming station.

There are two survivors from the attack. Neither of them speak English, as they are Reach-born. The SF team must interrogate/question them to determine the correct frequency to counter-act the other jammer, activated too far away for them to reach it in time. If they get the code from the two men quickly enough, they can get comms back. This will be accomplished by the written-only player helpers/GMs. Players will not allowed to use "cop outs" (IE: muh helmet has translation software and can magically decipher a person's specific dialect). If Players recognize it as Hungarian or certain phrases (IE the interrogated prisoners will use the word "Reach" or another English word- to which the group can pry about where they're from, and then establish that they speak Hungarian (if not already known). A translation pad (the only listed one in-universe according to multiple sources (the only other translation software relegated to Alien speech, and wouldn't be able to account for dialects) can be used, but this must be organic and cannot magically solve their problem.

It is open-ended on how the team can accomplish this task. While interrogating the prisoners, if they are kind and compassionate, they can attain the information faster, and accurately. This is Option A.

If however, they are crude, they will tell them the right information- but also cause them to activate the emergency alert beacon, sending every single asset the rebel forces have on top of the UNSC forces. This is Option B.

Both affect the larger outcome. Special Forces units will then patrol back to the LZ and retake it from a small squad, and prepare another defensive position to help the Marines and Soldiers escape.

Once Comms are established, the Colonel is abuzz with information, telling them to get out of there, as the enemy fleet has engaged their ships above and they need to pull out to avoid losing the entire campaign effort.

If Option A is selected, the Marines and Soldiers will have a relatively simple extract mission, and will pull back to the ship to avoid being caught against the rest of the enemy's forces.

If Option B is selected, there will be only two falcons at a time picking up Marines and soldiers, who will be harassed at their LZ by enemy forces. Artillery and explosives will set off in the distance, growing closer and closer as the enemy "zeros in", creating tension for the Marines and Soldiers to actually escape. Player-controlled heavy weapons will spray the friendly positions dramatically with heavy weapons fire (but without causing damage, only creating a tense atmosphere).

Once the last Marine and Soldier is extracted to the "ship", the map will change and the RP will describe how the enemy force is much larger than expected, and the friendly units will have to come back with a larger force, as they severely underestimated the strength of the enemy force, and being that they are prior UNSC personnel, are well trained and able to hold off the friendly units.

The debrief will then be conducted back at friendly lines, with the Colonel departing stating that he will return with a larger force, and commending them on their bravery and hard work, again, in the huddled, horse-shoe fashion (as inspired by real life briefings given by generals and senior officers). He will personally thank the Special Forces team for re-establishing comms, but vehemently congratulate the soldiers and Marines for taking the lead on such a difficult assault.

He will then leave after giving his speech.

End of event.

Notes:
-Lower DMG on NPCs
-Periodically drop explosives to add tension
-Punish stupid behavior and bad tactics (bunching up will get you shot at by a machine gun, etc)
-Don't allow faction leads/characters to do something outside of the capability (IE if someone tries to disarm an explosive and they're not EOD, they will lose their hands or get blown up, etc)
-Tell people over the radio that's a stupid idea if they bring up a stupid idea

+1 This man seems experienced and passionate of wanting to become a gamemaker. As a long time gamemaker I personally think this person should be given the opportunity to join the team.

+1 I see you as a good dude in Valkyrie and I think that your ideas for the server aren't all that bad, you would make a pretty good gm if you put your mind to it.
