As far as to my knowledge there are 4 jobs for forerunner, which are: Sentinel, Heavy sentinel, monitor, huragok.
Now whenever I am on I am maybe the only forerunner faction member that really gets on, I know the monitor comes on sometimes, I’ve seen one other person on as a huragok and one other as a sentinel.
Now I think there should be 2-3 more forerunner jobs, the reason for this is that forerunner is a massively understaffed faction for what it is, considering a lot of the conflict you see in the halo universe revolves around forerunner/builder artifacts and locations, so here is what I propose to have:
A monitor
The warden
2 heavy sentinels
4 sentinels
4 composed prometheans
2 huragok
now what I have just stated would be the max allowed in the faction, now with all other factions have a goal, the UNSC is the military of mankind and is used to fight its countless wars, the SoS is a war on the covenant, the HoJ likewise, ONI is to deal with the more cloak and dagger side of things, as for forerunner it is purely to uphold what their creators left behind, AKA maintain the artefacts, make sure undesirable parties do not interfere with them, now the fact of the matter being that the mantle of responsibility was left to the humans, is not too far out the question to believe that the monitor/warden would ‘aid’ the humans by making sure they weren’t wiped out.
Secondly, from what it seemed like on the base map, forerunner seemed like ‘a place to hide’ if things went wrong, instead of an actual focal point for forerunner machines, even though that is what it was meant to be.
Now I have talked with some people(as my heavy sentinel) about other sentinels in the past and the the most common themes were that the majority were a bunch of dicks that would murder people at the slightest provocation and could Pk them with the sentinel beam, so if this faction were to be redone, then I’d suggest adding an extensive list of rules onto it.
Secondly, I’d like to tackle the issue of Forerunner in an event, i understand that having OP classes flying around and annihilating everything would be an issue, and would ruin the event, but I think they should be allowed to interact in the following three types of event.
1. Forerunner based events
2. Flood events
3. On planet events (as in on our standard map)
The reason for the 1st reason I have already explained in the aforementioned paragraphs, the second is that the forerunner constructs were designed to combat the flood and it would be stupid for them to simply not do what they were built to do. Finally the events that happen on the map we base at is a no-brainer, if there was a threat the forerunner constructs would defend forerunner site’s and eliminate whatever they deemed a threat.
Now back to the main point which is jobs, so here is what the planned new jobs would do:
Warden: Controls the Composed Promethean's, also converses with the monitor on what action the forerunner should take, initially however they would fall under the jurisdiction of the monitor when an emergency decision would be made.
Composed Promethean: essentially a warrior class for forerunner that fulfils the role as 1st call responders for an attack, while sentinels are primarily patrolling units, composed promethean have been known to actively seek out threats.
finally for the new jobs i would actually make these a non-donator faction so players can work towards working for forerunner without having to pay 60-250 dollars for a role.
thoughts and criticism and questions welcome.
