The age old question that has divided nations. Which is better? NRL or AFL? Now for some backstory you yanks.

NRL also known as the National Rubgy League, is an Austrlian Rugby League. 18 Teams, mainly from Queensland and New South Wales (1 in the ACT, 1 in Victoria and 1 in New Zealand) go head-to-head for two 40 minute halves to score the most points. An average game score will be between 20 and 30, 4 points for a try (touchdown for you NFL heads), 2 points for a try conversion, 1 point for a field goal and 2 points for a penalty goal. The field is in a rectangle shape and is 100 metres long by 50 metres wide. A team will consist of 18 players. And in the instance of a draw, there is overtime and golden point.

AFL also known as Aussie Rules or the Australian Football League, is the far superior sport and is a sport played by most oceanians (PNG AUS and NZ). The AFL was founded in 1896 with 6 original teams from Victoria forming the VFA (Victorian Football Agency). After more teams started to join the league during the 20's and 40's, the league was renamed to the VFL (Victorian Football League). During the golden era of VFL in the 80s and 90s teams from Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth emerged. And in the late 90s, it was finally renamed to the AFL. Since then, there have been 2 three-peats from Brisbane Football Club (2001-2003) and more recently with the greatest team ever Hawthorn (2013-2015). An average team consists of 18+ players and is played on an oval ground. To score, you mus kick the ball between 4 posts at each end of the field. If you kick the ball between the 2 middle posts, its called a "goal" and is worth 6 points. If you kick the ball between one of the outer posts and the inner posts, its called a "behind" and is worth 1 point. An average score will be between 80 and 120 points. There are rarely draws in the game and in the case of a draw, there is no overtime.

So, what do you think?
