View attachment 2193 Why I should be unbanned: I think I should be unbanned because This Is my first offence, It wasn't meant to be taken seriously and I apologized to the admin and the person I did the joke to. I have mixed feelings about this ban. I feel and very embarrassed and guilty yet I also feel very angry. I am very sorry to the person that had to experience this "joke" and I will try to avoid any jokes of that kind or avoid them in general so this doesn't happen again. I'm hoping that my ban can be appealed or at least reduced. I would like to apologize to the "victim" personally in game and not through another person telling them. I know that ERP bans are typically perma-bans and I may have gotten cut a little slack with it just being a week but I'm a long time returning player of this server and wouldn't like to go a week without playing it.

ERP bans are tricky, since new staff are taught to consider the mere mention of genitals or anything that come close to a "erotic situation" as erp. in the past people have gotten warned an banned for simple things like giving a /me of licking an object, slowly. I am uncomfortable with people having rp sex as much as the next guy, but the more fringe stuff is pretty upsetting. I'd like to know what exactly constituted 'ERP' in this case before voting, and even then im still in favor of a reduction

A good example of admins not understanding ERP was in a recently bumped thread found HERE.

For any admin that sees this, please bring it up in the meeting. ERP IS NOT AND CAN NOT BE IN OOC IN ANY CASE. that's the entire point of OOC. it's still mingey as heck but please, carry out punishments that fit the crime. unless you have two ONI members in a dark room getting down to it or some Army making out in a claimed part of SSR, It's really not ERP. if you disagree with the assessment of OOC, then lets look back at the Staff app Question, what is the difference between in-character and out of character. chances are, OOC is to be taken outside of roleplay as the player themselves speaking.

If the situation was an OOC moment it cannot be considered ERP, Please keep all ERP 'Claims' To strictly RP situations.
However since no proof was provided to show if its an OOC or RP form of ERP then no action should be given
