The forward base on the planet's surface was nearing completion. With many underground sections, the base was constructed on top of old ruins from an old human colony: retrofitted in favor of the UNSC, of course.
Scouting parties and surveyors found a distinct layout of the land, one that seemed... wrong. Artificial. Like someone had made it cut into sections with their own distinct biospheres and weather. That was why they were here, of course. The strange structures and abandoned areas found little evidence to explain why- for now. Perhaps a new group might find answers, to bring a Revival of this new land.
