Alright, so I’ve then thinking about this a lot recently, viewing other games and specifically other military simulation games like our server. One thing I noticed that their use of radios, and in that reard, they have a lot better use of their communication in real time, (or as close as you can come to.) Use of realistic and useful radio communication. This would be nice, however our current radio system is seriously lacking due to how they are limited to your same job type. Being able to communicate between squads by using actual radios, instead of the chat command would be a huge improvement to immersion and usefulness, in my opinion. Often times when two marine fireteams/squads/platoons, communication between two different job types, (Ex. a Victor NCO needing to talk to a Zulu CO,) is done entirely through the chat radio. This takes time and often just is straight up meaningless when you communicate that there is a missle inbound, and you finish typing right as an entire platoon gets annihilated. Using the voice radios, and realistic radio communication is more practical and is a general step up from what most marines have to use. Of course usage of the radio currently is not bad, but it could be improved significantly.
The radio system we have right now isn't terrible, but it needs to be expanded on and improved if we are to use them seriously, and make the best of them. Just expanding our current radio system for marines to have other marine frequencies. Namely have all our marines connected through the radios, Ie. Zulu 1-1, Victor 2-2, Kilo
2-1, Whiskey 5-4, Golf 0-4, Dogma 3-6, and Rhino 5. For everyone else, they're more experienced and therefor are able to use teamspeak, which makes the radio somewhat irrelevant, but nonetheless, for marines they are very much still relevant. This is totally my opinion, but I am absolutely sure that with these changes we will improve immersion.
