Characters Backstory:
Elizabeth 'Eli' Cross was the product of a screwed and abusive relationship from her mother. She was born pure, with blue bright eyes and a big mane of brown hair that would look auburn with the correct ray of light, she was curious, charitable and friendly, qualities that her mother didnt seem fit for her plan. She was always kept a secret from her father, living in the citadel. Her first years of life were considered normal, she learned all that a kid her age had to, and even went to kindergarten, her only family were the many babysitters she constantly had and switched around and a VI that would monitor her status and send the data directly to her mother who just appeared every once in a while. Her life turned around at the age of 6 when her biotics first flared after she pushed a bully that was pulling her hair, the outrage of emotion and the movement ticked something inside of her and the bully was pushed backwards a few feet, as if an adult would've pushed the young bully off her, the situation was informed to her mother who quickly arrived, picking her up and dissapearing once again, where one of the known babysitters was supposed to come home to take care of her, an asari matriarch named Josina Praci appeared, and from that day forward her childhood would know nothing but harships and pain.
This matriarch that "cared" for her was a mentally scarred blue sun, discharged from the military due to her ruthless and borderline derranged behavior, she was payed big ammounts of credits to keep her mouth shut and to "raise her to be strong". To not raise suspicions Eli's mother cut all social ties of Eli, she declared her dead saying the operation to implant her bio amps failed and burned her brain, leaving her at the mercy of Josina. She turned out to be an extremely abusive mother, usually beating Eli and overexerting her biotics to the point where she would pass out. The abuse she had to deal with turned her submissive yet quick to anger when she was pushed too far (which usually ended up in more beatings).
One night she had enough and decided to do the unthinkable and to kill her caretaker, she went to the room with a kitchen knife, but when she entered she was met with a fist to the face, her caretaker was alerted somehow of her plan, and so she decided to beat her, this time to death, both got in a struggle that soon turned the place into a mess, during the struggle the knife kept switching hands, as both were too busy trying to take the knife away from each others to use their biotics, Eli was cut a few times, but a missmove from Josina allowed Eli to stab her deeply in the gut, and decided to make a run for the door, but Josina was still alive enough, with the last of her energies she threw a blast of biotic energy that would surely kill Eli, she reacted in time and in a burt of anger she charged at Josina, powering through her blast and hitting her. The explosion of energy when her fist touched her chest was such that the windows of the appartment exploded, spraying shards of glass into the abyss that soon were followed by the corpse of Josina.
Josina's death affected her greatly, she felt free for once in her life, even though she knew murder wasnt right, the experience itself gave her spirit back, with this, she decided to tend to her wounds and to search for her father, she never knew who he was, but she had to hope he would be better, and if he wasnt, then she would escape once again. She used Josinas computer to get any information out, but before she was able to find any solid evidence, her mother appeared smashing into the place, screaming and yelling Eli barely managed to escape her as she entered the appartment next to hers through the broken window, barely holding to a ledge that gave her barely no footing or place to hold, going into the abandoned place and breaking the door out, this caught her mothers attention, who screamed, threatened and shot at her as she ran away into the streets of the citadel.
She knew she wouldnt be safe in the citadel, and so she had to leave. But she knew her mother would be searching for her, and most likely would've bribed guards to detain anyone matching her description, she had to change everything about her and so, she shaved the side of her hair, got a few piercings, used lens to change the colour of her eyes and finally she got herself a new identity.
As the name of Maxwell Johnson, she bribed some smugglers to take her out of the citadel, her next destination would be Omega, the only place where she could hide from her mother, and that's where it hit her. The freedom she thought she had was a lie, she only had a brief respite until her mother came down chasing for her, she realized now, that she was prey, running from her predator, she knew that one mistake would cost her identity and with it, everything would go downhill, as she realized all this, the spirits that she once had died once more, but as she felt more and more cornered in her own thoughts she realized that she couldnt run from her predator forever, she had to find a way to get rid of her mother...permanently.
The events of that choice and the consequent actions would trigger a series of events that would turn her life around once more and would finally end up with her given the choice of life sentence or to serve in a new peacekeeping task force as his grandfather bribed the judge and influenced the trial to her favor.

What is your character's goal aboard the ship?: "Look...my only goal is to not get fucking killed out there. I'll do my best to not get kicked out around here and to get our peace keeping mission completed (which I doubt since "peacekeeping a fucked up galaxy" seems like an endless task) but the moment the contracts done im out."
Why were they hired by Luda Corporation?: Eli was contracted as an alternative to going to prison, this deal was made by his grandfather who pulled some strings in the alliance to alter her sentence. She'd fullfil an extended contract that would be finished if enough time passed, until the mission of the task force was over or until she'd be discharged and sent to prison.

- As the daughter of both strong biotic parents Eli showed signs at a very early stage of her life, her mother used all the resources she could scrounge while she was captain of the New Eden group to give her the best implant possible, and so, she was equipped with a L5n implant. She contracted and old asari matriarch to train her to fully develop her biotics. She was ruthless and cruel to the point where she would push her beyond her limits and some more, the harsh training ended up helping her develop her biotics earlier in life and gaining more controlled and powerful biotics, she's no subject zero, but her powers are extremely deadly.
