Characters Backstory((The longer, and more detailed the backstory, the most likely you will be accepted.)) : Nick Floures was born into a small family on Earth in the year of 2160. His father was a Marine in the Alliance and his mother a medic in the reserves back on Earth. He had one sister who died when he was nine and she was sixteen because of gang violence that she got caught in the middle of.
Nick took a great interest in the big ships that the Alliance had at a young age. The size and complexity of them intrigued Nick’s imagination. Nick especially liked the guns on the ship. When he was eight he started to study the way the ships and guns worked. By the time he was ten he was already in special classes that taught young kids how to work the new technology that humans had started to gain at that time. By the time he was twelve he had his own civilian grade omni-tool that he knew everything about and how to use it.
By the time of high school when he was fourteen he wanted to learn how to use the ship guns, but this wasn’t available to him yet so he decided to learn more about tech. When he was eighteen he graduated high school with flying colors in technology classes that he took. He earned first honors and was happy. That same year he asked his parents if he could enroll in the navy and become a ship gunner. They knews his dreams so they allowed it. Nick enrolled into the Navy and learned how to use the ship cannons. When he was twenty he was sent with a crew to rescue human colonists from pirates. During his duty there he racked a big kill list. He destroyed about fifty-six ships in a year according to his service report. He did this for another year killing about ninety-six ships his second year. Then he got sent back to Earth in the Fifth Fleet where he stayed for about 3 ½ years before finally retiring from the navy. He then applied for New Eden where he was accepted. During the time he heard of the Thannix cannon and fell in love with it. He got training for that. He then asked to be sent to the Icarus and awaited to be sent or not sent.
What is your characters goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden? : To protect the crews from pirate ships and to provide air support. He was hired for his skill using ship cannons.
