Greg was born in one of the great Megatropolises of Earth to two poor and unwed Congolese parents, Xavier Beghuza and Esther Ntombizonke. Shortly after his birth Esther gave him up to the Orphange as Xavier was refusing to raise him, and Esther was too impoverished to have the ability to.
Thus Greg was raised with the many other orphan children by the Caretaker of the orphanage who was a kind, and small Asian women by the name of Dai Ya. Dai took as good of care as she could of the children. Made sure all of them got to school on time, and were at the very least fed, even if money was tight.
However Dai's care wasn't enough to keep Greg out of trouble. From a young age Greg proved to be an angry child, like many of the children in the Orphanage. However Greg was always a tall kid, bigger than the others. From the age of 6 he was notorious among Parent-Teacher Conferences for all manor of things. From bullying the other kids, to taking things to far, back talking the teachers, and anything else one could imagine. By the time he got into Junior-High he was in and out of detentions and always on the verge of expulsion.
When he was 14 he fell into a then small gang by the name of the Tenth Street Reds. Who besides from regular petty crime were also Human Supremacists. Gregiore was by far the tallest member of the gang, standing at Six foot Two inches even at his young age of 14. At the age of 15 Greg was sent to a Juvenile detention center after he was convicted of Vandalism, three counts of 1st Degree assault, and petty misdemeanor possession.
While in Juvie Greg received frequent visits from Dai Ya, and even his mother Esther Ntombizoke. He received many calls from friends in the Reds, including a close friend of his by the name of Finch. Greg had a rough time in Juvie, as many of the kids there were just like him. Angry. He got caught in a new fight almost every month.
When he got out of jail at the age of 17 he immediately returned to his gang life in the Reds, however after a few months he was quickly disenchanted with both the people in the gang, and the life they led. He enlisted in the Alliance Marines as soon as he turned 18, much to the dismay of Dai Ya, who cared for Gregiore greatly.
Gregiore had enlisted in 2175. After his going through boot camp, he was moved from planet to planet. He was given a week of shore leave in 2176 and being the amazingly unlucky prick he was he chose to spend it on Elysium. Three days into his leave the Skyllian Blitz happened. While he did not play an instrumental roll in the defense of Elysium, he helped along with many others including the now deceased Commander Shepard. During the defensive, he was on the front line with a standard issued Lancer. There he racked up 42 confirmed kills, and earned a few commendations for his valiant service. Though nothing close to the Star of Terra some of the defenders received.
After the Skyllian Blitz, Gregiore was promoted to Lance Corporal, and once again got juggled from station to station, seeing a decent amount of combat in between the assignments. By 2177 he rose to the rank of Sergeant after the leader of his Squadron was KIA'd during a small Pirate Attack. Gregiore assumed control of the Squadron during the attack and played an instrumental role in fighting it off.
In 2178 Gregiore was put under the control of Major Kyle, and shortly after he and his Squadron was deployed, during the Raid on Torfan. Gregiore's squad was heavily utilized during the attack, taking 5 casualties as a result. By the end of the raid Gregiore had sustained two shots to the chest and had to be put in a hospital for two weeks.
Gregiore was awarded a purple heart, and two more weeks of shore leave after the event. Upon news of the heavy casualties from his squadron, he used the whole time to attended all 5 of their funerals. After he returned to service he was forced to take a mental evaluation were they determined that he had no disorder, but clearly blamed the deaths of his squadron upon himself.
Despite this Gregiore continued his military service, and even stayed in contact with his mother and Dai Ya. Things died down for Gregiore after he was stationed on Eden Prime in 2179. His leadership and combat prowess saw him rise to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. As a Gunnery Sergeant he was consider one of the hard ass'. However the unit he was responsible for always scored at the top or at least near it during evaluations of all kinds.
Gregiore, still being the unlucky son of a bitch that he was, was still stationed on Eden Prime in 2183 during the Geth Attack. Practically all of his unit had died before they were able to be extracted. The only reason Gregiore survived was by hiding under a pile of dead corpses. Luck favored him for once, as the Geth didn't notice him under the pile, and he was able to stay alive until they could extract him.
After the event, Gregiore was granted a year long leave of Absence, during which he returned to Earth. When there he helped Dai Ya run the orphanage, and even found his father. The two formed a close bond after meeting, enough so that Gregiore forgave him for refusing to help raise him. Gregiore also formed a close relationship to several of the orphans, who idolized him due to his military service.
He had to return for another year to the Marines to finish off his 2nd tour, but after he did, he once again returned to earth. For one time luck struck Gregiore as he went to the citadel to join C-Sec a 3 months before the attack on earth.
As a C-Sec officer, his record is complicated. Though it was clear to his superiors he hated to job, openly voiced his dismay towards the red-tape that encompassed law enforcement. He quit the day after the Earth attack to help incoming refugees, mostly Human. His help expanded to basic medical work for the refugees which he was taught by Dai Ya, as well as previous experience because of his military experience.
Only recently he submitted a resume to the PMC after C-Sec closed down his operation for stirring trouble between the other races. He figured he would join a crew with no regulation, as it was the best way to defeat the defeat the reapers.
What is your characters goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden?: His goal is to help the crew defeat the Reapers. He was hired because of his history in the alliance.
