Kaestus Varmus was born on the planet Taetrus in 2166, 20 years before the Invasion of the Reapers in 2186. Both of his parents had a very high stature in the Turian Military. Because of his parents involvement in the Military, Kaestus was inspired and wanted to follow in their footsteps, hoping that it will give him the leadership traits that he so deeply desired.
In order to achieve this personal goal Kaestus had work for extremely hard for his approval within the Military leadership. He was dedicated and willing to do anything as long as he served in his parents names.
While in training, he took a very strong interest in the functions of computer systems. Understanding how the ships could get from one place to another and computers transferring data to ships out in the universe fascinated Kaestus. Kaestus made a request to his commanding officer to allow him a transfer to Systems Operations.
During the Invasion of the Reapers, Kaestus parents were killed in action from a planned out terrorist attack. After finding out about their deaths, Kaestus wanted to avenge them by joining hunting packs for the seperatists groups.
Being heavily involed in the War of Taetrus, Kaestus greatly increased his knowledge of computer systems. During strategic attacks on this terrorist group Kaestus was placed in the role of a Systems Operator while aboard ships. He was very efficient at telling the computer blocks what to do and what not to do. Kaestus was well recognized by the Military leaders he so hoped for.
After months of conflict and many attacks on one another, the Turians were at a loss. Their attempts to take back their world were all unsuccessful. Even though Taetrus was taken, the fight for Turian space had begun.
Kaestus was a Systems Operator aboard multiple ships during the rest of the war. The War for Taetrus became so desperate for the Turians that they wanted to use their starships as projectiles while going at light speed. Kaestus pointed out to his commanding officer on his ship that it would be impossible due to their mass effect technology that possesed hardwired safety features to prevent FTL collision. The Turians had no other choice but to retreat.
After the retreat and the "lost" home city of Palaven, Kaestus was transfered to Citadel.
What is your characters goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden? :
Kaestus's goal while aboard the ship is to ensure that their are no issues within the ships systems and make sure that the ship is fully operational for any future incidents. Kaestus was hired by New Eden due to his Militaristic background and his experience with ships computer systems.
