Characters Backstory((The longer, and more detailed the backstory, the most likely you will be accepted.)) : Kimberly was born and raised a colonist on New Canton, a mining colony that settled not long before her birth. The colony was founded after scans showed up positive readings of large amounts of rare minerals and eezo in the atmosphere, enough to send settlers down on. With so much territory undiscovered, Alliance soldiers had settled down and established their own base-of-operations within the colony. Acting simultaneously as a police force while sending out patrols, they guarded the perimeter inside and out. With the threatening presence of not only rachni surrounding the colony, Alliance made countless attempts at warding off both geth infiltrators and collectors, who's goals remained unknown up until the final moments of the reaper invasion: a prothean artifact that the colonist's miners had dug up was secretly being kept underground, with very few knowing of its presence.
Kimberly, on the other hand, was lucky enough not to experience such an uncovering as she had already left the colony, with her only knowledge of it being through the extranet as undercover Cerberus forces made off with the artifact. Kimberly remained on the colony only until she reached her twenties and finished her education. She had many friends and was undoubtedly one of the more "popular" girls amongst the rather small populace. She acted as security, but only as a back-up force with other colonists when the Alliance was too split up between the perimeter. Thus, she made most of her credits by remaining safely inside the compound for most of the time.
She didn't stay for long though. At the age of twenty, she grew bored of the lifestyle and left the colony in search of a more fulfilling lifestyle that was much more entertaining from her point of view, where Alliance soldiers didn't always get in the way of things and do everything for her. Her friends and family supported her choice fully, deciding to allow her to do what she wanted and trusting her to survive with what combat training she was taught. Additionally, having their daughter on a mercenary ship meant extra income at the same time, making their lives all that much better. It was selfish, but Kimberly didn't care so long as she was allowed to do what she wanted.
What is now New Eden is now the second Mercenary ship and crew that she's taken part in, seeking her path to fortune, glory, and potentially love. And making some friends on the way. It might seem like an impossible fairytale considering her occupation, but she was determined to prove people wrong. Kimberly was also born a biotic, and even given L3 implants to give her the potential they needed to be useful out in the field. However, Kimberly was reluctant to make use of them. With no training, she was very unstable when making use of her biotic abilities, causing her to have severe migraines and other physical discomforts. It wasn't only until New Eden and the final moments of the reaper invasion where she came to a realization: she was meant to be more than just a rifleman for a mercenary grew. She was born with these powers for a reason. Only now has she told anyone of the crew about her abilities, gathering appropriate equipment to use with them, and seeking out someone to train her to use her powers effectively in combat.
What is your characters goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden? : In the end, Kimberly was in it for the credits and making a name for herself in the galaxy as a war hero. With the combat training given to her while she was on the colony and from her previous mercenary experience, she was a suitable candidate for the crew as a generic rifleman-- not seen as much more than cannon fodder. She was determined to prove them wrong.
