First off, the corpsmen. I noticed on the server we have Corpsmen that are called Marines and go by the Marine ranking system... that's just not right. Corpsmen are Naval personnel and while they're dressed and work with Marines (depending on their specialty) they are still Navy and would follow their own rating system, which is different than the one on the server but it's fine if you don't want to add another rating (rating when talking about navy means the enlisted) chart just for Corpsmen and just make them stick to the one already up, though I would encourage adding the new ranks as they're not very different to the ones already up, just different letters and names. I encourage this for immersion and lore friendliness. The fix is rather simple to me... just have them change their names from "UNSCMC {Whatever goes here} (MARINE rank) [Name]" to "UNSCN {Whatever goes here} (NAVAL rank) [Name]".

Next, I want to talk about customs and courtesies when it comes to (Warrant) officers.
First, proper regulations say that you don't salute at all when indoors to an officer... unless you're formally reporting to them like you got in trouble or they requested to see you. Yet doing so in the server won't work seeing as we'll never use the salute bind, instead I recommend instead of every time we see the (warrant) officer, we just salute the first time we see them if situation permits it. Also when an (warrant) officer enters a room, you don't scramble to one wall and wait in a line and salute... that's just silly. Instead you'd call the room (or area if you're outside and the situation permits) to attention. Said (warrant) officer would tell you to "carry on" or "at ease" and whoever called the room/area to attention will echo the order then you relax and continue as you were.

Finally, I know this has been a long post to read, I would recommend fixing the job names to be more inclined to what they are. I don't know the size of the units in lore at the base, so I won't say anything much about it, but I do know I saw the job rank, "General of the Army" with a Colonel holding that spot, the explanation given to me was the base wasn't secured enough to warrant a general to be there except for visits, which is perfectly fine and understandable, but if the general isn't played a lot then change the job name to what would be befitting of that rank, a Brigade or Regiment. Or if you want to make it really simple, just say UNSC Officer.

Anyways, thank you for coming to my TED talk, I know this is probably one of the more useless suggestions there are considering it's a bunch of small things... but trust me, it'll help with immersion and lore accuracy for those who actually RP on the RP server.

I would also like to add the rank WO1 isn't even used in the navy anymore, I get this is a different time period but why would the rank be re-introduced? Unless it says somewhere in the lore why idk why we still have it when CW2 does the job just fine.

It would also be nice if the spawns were a bit more accurate such as Marines spawning on the Halcyon it would also split the power balance pretty nicely. Also, CR shouldn't be deployed. CR is the rank you get when you goto Boot.

Hello there! I am glad to see there are other people who love the little things and get the details squared for serious RP. I myself pushed for the same things a while ago. I'm going to give you one of the counter arguments that I received, and somewhat convinced me.

To point one, While I whole heartedly agree that Corpsmen shouldnt be marines (Navy Corpsman is a marine's best friend), The server politics makes the change tricky. If we were to go all out and say "yeah all of our medical are navy" do we stop at just the name or expect navy to train all of our guys? As you spend more time in server you may notice that the higher echelons are a bit more tribal than a military should be. Politically, having an entire whitelist in your faction controlled by another faction is a pressure point. Following that, Naval may expect that the corpsmen fall under their chain of command more so than Marines, that the corpsmen are attached to marines when convenient but can be revoked if navy needs them more at any point, in their own eyes. mind you, these are generalizations and do not reflect what current naval leadership will do.
This of course can be circumvented by keeping the system the same, promotions/Chain of Command and all, and just changing the marine ranks of corpsmen to Naval ranks. the fears may sound strange, but Having been involved with the upper level politics myself they are legitimate.

For saluting (warrant) officers, That is something that I will talk to the marine leadership and potentially get squared away. to be honest, Salting isn't really enforced harshly regardless. Generally when a high ranking enters the room for the first time, specifically when instruction is going on, will a member call room to attention. it's rare to find people saluting in the halls. In any case, We'll look at getting the standards set up

To your last point, I'll talk to Grey (the army lead) and pass it up the chain. Keep up the good work, and if you'd like to retort to point One, I'll be happy to talk more.

+1I’m currently in the USN and we don’t even use WO1. I also don’t see the USN adding that back in the next 200 years but this is halo at the end of the day.
