** Current ranking structure as of Nov 5th 2017

Commissioned Officers
Captain (Capt) - The Captain is the main person who runs the entire ship. Their word is law on the ship.

First Lieutenant (1st-LT) - Second to the Captain- reports directly to the Captain. This role is very important as they're the highest ranked individual second only to the Captain of the ship. They handle all roles the Captain can't fulfill plus they handle communication of command through the entire ranking structure.

1st, 2nd, 3rd Officer - These Officers handle first hand leadership on the ship and more directly work with NCO's and regular field units on the ship. They all directly report to the First Lieutenant and to the Captain. Occasional field deployment. When deployed they only have command in non-combat related issues.

Non-Commissioned Officers
Flight Lieutenant (FL-LT) [Reports to: 1st-LT, Capt] - Handles flight of the ship and makes decisions based entirely off of flight alone. Usually unless given orders otherwise they're only responsible only for the flight of the ship. They have very high command in issues directly relating the maintenance, flight, navigation, or anything else related to the operation of the ship.

Warrent Officer (WO-MED, WO-ENG, etc) [Reports to: All CO's] - Each division has a warrent officer that is in direct command of the division. The medical Warrent Officer handles the leadership of the entire medical department. Things like stocking the medbay, properly maintaining it, keeping equipment clean, training, and command of the field medics. The Engineering Warrent Officer handles things like planning projects, organizing current projects, buying new equipment, following safety standards, and so on. Same going for every active division on the fleet. Each division has one of these.

Master Sargent (MSgt) [Reports to: All CO's] - This person handles leadership of the field while the troop is deployed. While boots are on the ground, the MSgt is the one giving all the orders. On the ship they have little responsibilities but on the field their word is law.

Sargent (Sgt-FM, Sgt-ENG, etc) [Reports to: All CO's + MSgt] - Handles all field related leadership for the field in their division. The Medical Sargent will handle triage, medevacs, leading and commanding field medics, and so on. Each division has one of these.

Standard Units
Corporal (Cpl-FM, Cpl-ENG, etc) [Reports to: All CO's + All NCO's] - Same as a Private except they're one higher, paid a bit better, and they're awarded with leadership over privates while in the field.

Private (Pvt-FM, Pvt-ENG, etc) [Reports to: Everyone] - Standard field unit, they are responsible for combat when deployed and varying passive and active tasks depending on their division.
