We want to celebrate the glory of a legacy that set the precedence as the first generation of ODST’S under Lt Col Marin. It was this generation of ODST that set the standard of excellence and discipline for every ODST that would follow afterwards. Every ODST that accepts the challenge to becoming better than what they were learned of the men that came before them including the man himself Lt Col Marin. As we look at the most recent ODST Commander to take the mantle of lead of the platoon we wish ODST Lt Lex best wishes as makes strides to continue a prideful legacy and carry the torch that is Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.

Here are some pictures from the first Generation that have become Legend.

[ODST’s here are testing their equipment.]

[The first time ODST’s used a life support system, setting the foundation for future versions to come.]

[Blue team after they successful raid a underground insurgent hideout.]

[Red and Blue teams preparing for a operation.]

[ODST’s getting ready to do some training.]

[3 ODST’s clearing a room full of hostiles during breaching training.]

[ODST’s posing for a squad photo.]

[Lt Col Marin with his Platoon Standing Proud]

Let’s take the time to remember Commander Marin and these ODST Legends.

A lot to live up to, but being apart of that Platoon taught me a lot of great skills. We will work hard to reinstate this standard.

I remember leading the ODSTs back before Lt Col. Marin, and inciting all of the rules and regulations for ODSTs along with the training they still use to this day. I remember making Marin my Tombstone Squad Leader and basically my 2IC. I'm glad to see the fruits of my labor were able to pass, and that I was still remembered...

Best days I've had on Halo, as a leader and as a friend to all my troopers. It was a privilege to be a commander for the hell-jumpers. I remember joining Halo, wanting to be an ODST straight away. I failed tryouts 4 times but I became a PVT in Oscar 3-2 and soon became a Commander. Had the most loyal, most efficient, and most optimistic team of men & women I've ever met on server. To the lowest ODST Private, to the highest ODST officer, we all knew each other. A piece of me will always be part of the ODSTs. Every single ODST under my command can have their differences but all, can relate to one thing, how they passed selection. A grueling 5 hour selection screening, then a 1 week trainee probation period. I see myself in everyone of you ODSTs. We will always be a fraternity of people, a generation of families, a unit of professionals. I hear many call my name "ODST Commander Marin" to be the best ODST CO, and hear nothing from others. Yes, I did create all Hours of training per day, days of selection screening, several pages of google documents, team-speak channels. I couldn't have made this possible, without my other leaders or platoon. Do not only remember me, remember us. Remember us not as group of soldiers, but as a family, for as a family, there is no greater love.

A Video of My ODST Platoon I lead back when I was a 2nd Lt. A SOEIV deployment practice with 12x ODSTs, including myself. @Mr.Popo ODST Popa was recording this. :

ODSTs were great before Marins time.

Marin did set a special standard however and you would need to be blind to not see that or understand that.

I was a previous Sierra member, back in February of 2017, we were strong and organized.
