Noos was only seven years old proceeding the events of the First Contact War. Witnessing the event as a young salarian made Noos curious about how many other species in the galaxy were dormant, awaiting for the discovery of mass effect relays, however Noos was also curious about everything, anything, anywhere, and why, and who, and what. This lead to Noos pursuing complex medicinal sciences, biotic research, ontop of a litany of medical related technology not exclusive to but primarily implants. However this was all after Noos had fulfilled a contract of service to Sur'Kesh and the salarian people in the 2170 timeline.
During the 2170 timeline, Noos was a second class operator in the STG and had been involved in political intrigue, committing backdoor subterfuge, often ordered to use unorthodox methods to assassinate any political party and it's delegates that opposed the Dalatress seated in the Citadel Council, although his squad specifically was not limited to this as they also had a hand in maintaining the balance of power by using intelligence gathering methods, ensuring the salarians position in the galaxy could not be threatened without grievous repercussions of destabilizing a species political approval when presented to a higher court or the public. The events in which Noos encountered ranged from anything specific to experimental biotics, procurement of weapons of mass destruction, unethical cybernetic trans-species research, mass arms smuggling to anarchist terror groups and a litany of other warcrimes.
By 2178 Noos had already participated in over one hundred and thirty-seven operations, due to the metabolic rate of the salarian people and their persistence against the enemies of the coexisting galaxy. Although Noos had become skeptical if their efforts were truly achieving anything due to the frequency and high volume of transgressions caused by other species, as Noos was incredibly prejudice to most other species and saw them all as flawed imbeciles who were better off suffering genophages after witnessing the atrocities they were capable of. By 2179, Noos had retired from the STG, feeling content with the service he provided. He received honorary mention, although his deeds went unnoticed, most of them redacted to the official public. This was no consequence to Noos, who by 2180 was already deep into his medicinal studies with an agenda to prolong salarian life expectancy through cybernetic enhancement.
In the 2180 timeline Noos had failed to discover any fruitful methods of prolonging salarian life expectancy past fourty. It was around this time the reapers had reared their ugly head, throwing Noos for a loop, distracting him from his own selfish desire of prolonging his life. Instead he found a new curiosity in studying the reapers and how to manipulate their technology for the galaxy's benefit, and this agenda, while dangerous is likely to end in tragedy.

They were hired to provide professional medical assistance as well as identifying foreign technologies.
