I like the idea, but the harsh reality is that :
1. Parachutes are kind of pointless when you consider that anyone who is airborne uses jet packs instead.
2. Halo Vehicles are tempormental and don’t really allow things like that. You’re going to unintentionally kill yourselves and destroy the Pelican. (It accidentally happens all the time.) I’m not saying it’s impossible, because you can no-collide anything to make it work, but it’s really not the same.

hmmm i agree but if there is a way to add it and assist us on our events that would be great, cause on the last event we had we got shot down by the cruiser while i was way up high and i had no choice but to die with it.

I think it's a good idea. If you happen to get shot out of the skies, and you survive, a parachute increases your chances. Besides that, not every pilot is going to have a jetpack.

The para jumpers unit would greatly appreciate this.

When airborne was first thought up, the idea was to use parachutes instead of jetpacks. The jetpacks were just what we had at the time. I guess they are a bit more attached to them now though.

As for the halo vehicles, the vehicles just need to be no collided to not die, we do it already with viper drops

I’m not apart of halo but I am looking to join and be a pilot and this sounds like an amazing idea. Also, the add on is unavailable

Even with the implementation this would prove to be beneficial to the Air Force, as well as dropping from Frigates, etc for certain operations. It would add a new variety of RP for the server. Plus SoS/HoJ wouldn't have to keep flying/ no-clipping down when they can just drop OOC Wise.

ok i just want to clear something out before anyone in the future sends the same text about this. . . . THIS IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO USE JETPACKS THIS IS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DRIVE PELICANS AND FALCONS. if the people who use jetpack wants to use it then by all means go ahead.

We already have the jet packs which work just as well, PJ's would need it but climb SWEP works well enough dropping out of pelicans but I wouldn't mind a jet pack, works just as well, maybe even better than a parachute. In lore parachutes are no longer used because of the weight of equipment marines have including their exoskeleton under their armor and especially the weight of Spartans makes it pointless.

I disagree, Marines were not equipped with exoskeletons as the price for such would be astronomical. units as high as ODSTs were not equipped with exoskeletons because of the low life expectancy. As fir the "no longer in use of lore," there were several secens throughout the books where parachutes would be used by airborne units.

If anything, the jetpacks in use were a lot more rare in practice than the way we use them because of their volatility, fast fuel use, and price tag.

I don't know the exact capabilities of the marines exoskeleton (I believe it just assists their backs for heavy weight lifting and combat endurance) if its even exactly called that but it can be seen exposed on marines lower backs in Halo 3 and it mentions it somewhere on the wiki but I cant remember where I wrote it, but other armors like the reach armor cover it more. ODSTs had these too but it looks to be a sleeker version and these figures lower back show it pretty well.

Good Morning Gentlemen

Unfortunately this Suggestion will not be looked into. we have attempted parachutes on multiple occasions before and it has never worked in the servers best interest.
