Now, my favourite for each of those genres would be:

• Sci-Fi - Edge of Tomorrow, District 9, The Empire Strikes Back & They Live.
• Superhero - Avengers: Infinity War, The Dark Knight, Deadpool, Logan & V for Vendetta.
• Kaiju - Godzilla (2014 film), Kong: Skull Island, Cloverfield & Pacific Rim.
• Action - John Wick, Reservoir Dogs, Dredd, Mad Max: Fury Road & Assassin's Creed.
• Zombies - Shaun of the Dead & Zombieland.
