So with this new map, there are some that feel that the planet itself is somewhat small on the ground, however there is plenty of room under the surface that might be interesting to shape...
So if the idea is to keep expanding, I have a possible Idea to enhance rp while we work.
Create a surface access on the planet that goes down into a large room, similar to the SSR. Close off the opening with a door, with a button to open the door. (side optional piece, button can only be accessed via noclip.. I.E Admins and game makers)
The room in enters in is large and potentially have a grid (like SSR) or foreunner themed to refer to the planet being a shield world.
What this room could be used for
The Idea is that a Game maker can go into the room to set up a passive or active event. the room is refered to as the Labyrinth, a room that changes any time it opens. A GM can either use a pre-made dupe, or create their own passage.
When the hatch opens, it is alerted to the UNSC/SoS that a door as been created into the shield world. the UNSC will then create a survey team comprised of an ONI agent, an SoS representative/translator, and a marine squad for protection.
The squad would be comprised dependent on the needs. Whiskey for a closed in corridors, Rhino/Geiger for flood contamination, Dogma/Prowler/Valkrye for large platform based (needs jetpacks), etc. (It'd be up to the GM to see who goes down)
THIS AREA SHOULD NOT BE A EXCLUSIVE TO ONI. It is not suppose to be filled classified/sensitive data that can harm the UNSC, its an area for exploration and potential danger for research. the Idea is that it creates intricate RP for the players to participate in from all sorts of groups.
The preference is to not have kill barriers in this area, however bio hazards that chip away health may be preferable (will not crash if someone noclips into the area). The reason why I ask for a blank slate area is for the area to change from event to event and depend on the game makers.
These events could be simple small events that have ONI finding artifacts within, Marines fighting a few waves of enemies, portals to other worlds (ie off map events) etc. it just offers more interesting on map events then "we are under attack again!"
Findings can be posted in the Public archives with different levels of classification.
