Characters Backstory((The longer, and more detailed the backstory, the most likely you will be accepted.)) : Neera Rakavis was born in the year 2159, just two years after the Relay 314 Incident, to Mariva Rakavis. As a single mother Mariva spent most of her time working to provide for the small family. A Relay 314 veteran Mariva was no doubt an exceptionally talented pilot. From the time Neera could first walk Mariva would bring her along as she works as a freelance Cargo pilot with a ship of her own and small crew as well. The crew quickly became her friends and mentors as well. She quickly takes up flying when her mother allows it to help them bond even more. Still young with her mother’s help and supervision she learns to fly on their small shuttle while they are landed or docked.
Neera now in her earlier teens decides to live on Palaven set to attend Cipritine Military Academy. As the Capital of Palaven she quickly absorbs more and more knowledge on what it truly means to be Turian. Throughout her schooling she has contemplated if it was the right choice to leave her family behind to follow in her Mother’s footsteps, to become a pilot in the Hierarchy Military. Grinding her way through her courses she finds herself at a crossroad. Join the Military or go off and explore the galaxy with her family and friends. Neera decides to join the military and graduates near the top of her class from the Academy at the age of eighteen.
Skip forward a few more years and she is graduating once more, but this time it is from Naval Flight Training. A fresh out of school pilot being sent to join the 325th Tactical Fighter Wing on the edge of the Terminus systems to assist in joint operations against pirates and other undesired individuals using the shipping lanes for an easy paycheck. Flying many uneventful sorties she grows bored of the repetitive tasks set before her. Until one eventful evening as her patrol makes their way back to their ship they are ambushed by a renegade group of militants backed by the Batarian Hegemony. Thanks to her quick thinking and exceptional skills in the cockpit she manages to repel the attackers and not lose a single member of their squadron. Finally realizing her potential her superiors recommend her from promotion after the reports of the engagement make it up the chain of command. Neera however declines the offer and instead leaves the Hierarchy military all together.
With no income and unable to contact her mother or friends she finds herself contacting many different agencies and groups looking for work and a steady pay once again. This is where her story leaves off.
What is your character's goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden? : She is trying to get her life back on track. Using her extensive knowledge and experience as a pilot, New Eden would not let this opportunity slip past their grasp.
