Characters Backstory((The longer, and more detailed the backstory, the most likely you will be accepted.)) :
Aisling grew up in the southern part of Dublin and practically preached her parents as saints. She, in her mind, had a perfect childhood. Full of gifts and wonderful adventures she went on with her parents. By the time she was 7, she had learned English, French, German, and Dutch. She had also traveled to many places with her parents, and was exposed to many things that made her curious about the universe. But to everyone else, her childhood wasn't as perfect. Her parents hit her, left scars, and even burned her skin when she would do anything little wrong. For Aisling, this was normal. The pain made her better and made her strive to be better. When she reached 21 and had become fully independent from her parents, she decided to find a new adventure to embark on. In her current town she was the best police officer they had, and she could never be beat in a hand to hand fight. But she wanted to further her skills, so she started searching. Finally she found a group of mercenaries that hadn't become very popular, but needed new people to join them. She contacted their leader and he quickly responded, letting her know of dangers and the strain it would take on her body. Aisling didn't care and said to him that she was ready for anything. For years, she trained with the mercenaries and improved her skills. Quickly learning that her ability with a sniper was paralleled with her hand to hand combat abilities. She was a valuable asset to their group, and quickly started going on all missions to either help with killing targets quietly, or providing some brute strength when things got a little messy. Aisling loved this lifestyle. In her eyes, it was like enforcing the law but without all the paperwork and constant eyes that are watching.
But one mission would change everything for her and the group she had now been with for 5 years. They travelled to the planet AntiBaar, paid to help transport people off of the planet that were there fighting. And no other details were given on the mission. Soon they found out the extent of what was going on and immediately regretted going to help them. It was thought any type of lifeform was destroyed on the planet, but obviously this was wrong. Soon after arriving, 10 to 15 geth appeared and started to attack them. It was thought that any outpost here was destroyed, but some how some were still there. They quickly tried to destroy and defeat any enemies they could, but it seemed to take forever to get one of them down. After a hour of fighting, the last geth finally stood attacking them trying his best to hold his own. Aisling annoyed at this point in the battle request that she take the geth out in a hand to hand fight, just to give him a chance to live since he did manage to stay alive this whole time. But her real desire was to get her frustrations out on this geth from this long fight. Her leader didn't really understand why she wanted to do this but agreed and helped her corner the geth. She told him to drop the weapon and that this would be his one chance to survive. The two quickly got into a heated hand to hand battle, and both threw their all into trying to beat the other. While this was happening the rest of her group went to rescue the people that were here, and came back to watch Aisling fight. They were slightly amazed at her ability, sometimes outsmarting the Geth and others just barely dodging his attacks. They watched on as she misstepped and failed to move out of the way of the geth's attack. The very swift kick connected with her throat, causing severe damage to her vocal cords and throat. She surrendered to the geth and with the last of her voice said he could leave and go back to his family.
The geth quickly ran off not thinking twice about where he was going. Aisling's group rushed to her and picked her up carrying her over to their ship and taking her to their medbay. They put her under and quickly tried to repair anything they could, but they couldn't fix her vocal cords any. When Aisling came to she tried to speak but nothing would come out. She felt herself start to freak out and convinced herself it was ok. One of the other mercenaries came in and had a surprise for her since she just woke up. He explained to her that they had to insert a device in her neck to allow her to speak that would now make her voice more mechanical. He explained how it worked and told her to try to talk. She said slowly,"This is very cool present." and in a very thick and girly irish accent came out of her mouth. She was slightly shocked that it worked so well, but happy that she could speak. Aisling felt tears go down her cheeks and she thanked him, hugging him. Once she calmed down, he then went on to explain that their group needed to split up for now incase the geth tried to hunt them down. Which she grew sad about but understood why they must separate. She went on to search for new work and it took her a couple of years to find a new group to join. Two years later she came across The New Eden and their ship The Prometheus. At this point she had lost connected with her old group of mercenaries and was ready to move on. Aisling reached out and heard back immediately, them wanting her fighting expertise and her great ability with her sniper. She left a couple of days later to join The Prometheus crew and begin her new carrier aboard the ship.
What is your characters goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden? :
She wants to help get rid of more threats that are everywhere in the universe. And seeing all the missions this crew goes on, she wanted to join them in their conquest. She also hopes that one day she will be able to find her old group of mercenaries and rejoin them when the time comes. They also wanted her for her great fighting ability and also her ability to snipe almost anything from any distant. They thought she would be a good addition to help teach the newer members how to fight and how to handle dangerous situations.
