I think events with some really surprising and unexpected plot twists would be a great addition to the events. As long as there's not too many plot twists of course. Too many plot twists would kill events real quickly.

As a former GM, I agree with most of the things being said in this thread, specifically the posts about an event server. I became a GM after the event server went away, and every time I hosted an event, I wondered how much easier it would have been if I had been able to prepare things beforehand. Not only that, but events would be able to focus on specific battalions, with specialized objectives and tasks given to them. Its incredibly difficult for GMs to think of event ideas that give UNSC, ONI, SoS, etc all something distinct and meaningful to accomplish, and more often than not it just results in everyone doing the same thing, which is run around and shoot enemies at the objective. If we had an event server, some units would be able to deploy while others did passive RP, continued training or operated in the event from the station. The even server could also be used for mini events, such as the interior of an attacking ship, or for large-scale simulations to name a couple of examples. My biggest gripe about the server right now is the lack of anything to do when we're on station, and the notable dip in quality that events have seen over the past couple of months or so. Another thing worth mentioning that I know GMs will agree on is that having the event server would make claiming times way, way easier, since event set up and server switching times would not be an issue. Bringing back the even server would open up so many more avenues for high quality, well thought out and easily manageable events for the GMs, which means more fun for the players.
