Turian Military Records
Early Life
Born in 2137 in an unknown region of Turian Space, Gavius was born into a family with a rich an honored history in the Turian military, he was a relatively normal child in his youth. As he got older he became more and more like the ideal Turian soldier should be. At the age of 15 he was sent to boot camp on the Turian homeworld of Palaven, there his Biotic abilities were discovered and he was sent to a special training center for Turian biotics. During his years of intense training his biotics were honed and at the age of 18 he was assigned to a Turian Cabal unit nicknamed "The Daggers" from there he would serve the Turian Army as a combat engineer and equipment specialist.
Relay 314 Incident
Officially, there were no Turian Cabals sent to the human colony of Shanxi, unofficially two Cabals were discretely transported to the front after the initial invasion to support the garrison and to stop unrest. In official military records the two squads were support companies, logistics and medical. While on the planet they performed covert operations, weeding out any human resistance on the planet and securing the planet. Things took a turn for the worse as Turian supplies to Shanxi were running low. At this time the Second Fleet commanded by Admiral Kastanie Drescher arrived, almost instantly decimating the support fleet above, and began their long siege to retake their world. As the Turian garrison was decimated by orbital bombardment, both Cabals were ordered to attempt to leave the planet. Records state that during the extraction process both Cabals encountered human ground troops, being caught off guard they were decimated, one unit being wiped out while The Daggers suffering heavy casualties, A report from Gavius reads as follows,
"We were expecting an easy victory, these...humans didn't seem that they were warriors at first, we thought we had defeated their main fleet, but we were wrong, as we were evacuating we got ambushed, all those years of training really doesn't prepare you for the screams and the blood, I'm suprised I survived the first hour, let alone the entire battle."
Beaten and broken The Daggers barely managed to get out of the mess that was Shanxi, they suffered heavy casualties but learned a bitter lesson, show the enemy no mercy.
Post Relay 314 Incident
Following the embarrassment of the Relay 314 incident the Turian Military decided a change in leadership was needed for The Daggers, Gavius Varnion was then promoted to Kabalim of The Daggers, reforming the unit as a covert operation and infantry support unit, The Daggers were then transported back to Palaven, where they spent plenty of years rebuilding the unit, Gavius during this time met with his first wife, named Viretia, a logistics officer who was in charge in supplying his unit, from there, their relationship grew, eventually marrying and having four children. As time progressed the relationship became strained and in 2170 they split.
War of Taetrus
The latest record of Gavius Varnion is his service during the War of Taetrus, The Daggers were transported from Palaven to the colony to prevent Separatist Sympathizers from sabotaging Turian supply lines and assist in extracting civilians loyal to the hierarchy, The Daggers were involved in four covert operations while on the planet assisting as the war ended fairly quickly. The Daggers were then kept on the planet for a short time as peacekeepers before being transported back to Palaven.
Reaper War
When the Reapers came and began rampaging through Turian space, The Daggers were sent off to attempt to stop the reaper offensive, as the war progresses casualties were mounting up. As of today The Daggers have lost contact with high command and are to presumed MIA....
Physiological Profile
Gavius has shown during the Relay 314 Incident that he holds the mission in high regard but has also shown that he cares about the soldiers and fellow men and women around him. His personality is usually calm and calculated, although while in combat he can be a bit impulsive, sometimes putting his men in unnecessary danger to accomplish his mission. Although while not on duty he attempts to be social, but due to his isolation while in the Cabals his social skills weren't ever fully developed, leading to awkward statements or silences.
What is your characters goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden? : His goal on the ship is to try to help the galaxy and look for a new purpose since he went MIA in the military
