No but I often get a tool and physgun in the SSR because im a nice guy that likes to build training courses.

Explain why you're a better candidate than other candidates (75+ words):
I'm on the ground experiencing the events. I see where there is room for improvement and im not afraid to voice them. Other candidates may have more experience with Gmod, they may have a better computer or spawn things in faster, but they probably arent true HaloRP veterans. They havent spent long nights not sleeping because you just had to view that one Halo lore video. There is no other roleplay for me because a fourteen year old boy spent days, nights, living and breeding adventures in Halo custom edition with our own forum on XFIRE (anyone remember those good ol days?). Our characters stumbled together and back in the good ol' days we didnt have no fancy NPCs to shoot at. We shot the damn air and used our imagination. We didnt have OOC because it was _time_to_get_serious_. What im sensing from Revival, is that this server had its glorious legendary roleplayers, events, a true golden age of Halo roleplay. I want to see if I can help people relive that a little.

How do you plan to benefit the server? (50+ words):
Im not afraid to do the dirty work of helping people spawn stuff, but I do prefer helping out as voice actor. Im a sounddesigner/composer so sound and music mean a lot to me in roleplay. Leading RPs is fun but take up a huge amount of planning and preparation. Even so more with 90 players. Im the kind of guy that will push the bounderies and 'meta' of roleplaying. Storywise, im probably not the best around, but my imagination is vivid. I believe a good story starts with immersing players, every single one of them. I've been making training courses in the SSR for fun and for everyone to use, because I know people are bored in the down time.
A GM told today "Everyone wants to further their own story" , but I dont feel the need to write a story.
Given the oppurtunity I will give 200% and try to make the best roleplay story ever, but that's not perse a position im looking for. Like i mentioned in our little chat; you dont need more storytellers. Im not here to tell a story, I'm here to tell yours.

Yeah, you got me there. Im new to Gmod and only know 'kill', 'bind', *hud and !Noclip.
But look at what I've done in 2 weeks to my PAC. Nothing but a good google search and persistance.
Im not kidding, look at my PAC. My CO's love it.

Out of character is reserved for when people are not roleplaying

I need the game maker team, and I hope the game maker team will need me.
Because I love working together with people altho I often feel as if im an asshole for pointing things out.
I try to bring critisicm in a friendly manner and I encourage everyone point out when I go to far.


What is the purpose of a Game Maker?
The Game maker is a support unit that assists the main unit, The Writer.
This can be a event character, a guy that spawns stuff, or even a guy that relays messages and data.

Give us a full event idea you have. ( 3 Paragraphs )

ONI discovers a top secret research program hidden deep within their databanks that has been running for over 200 years. All data and memory of it had been lost during the Human-Covenant war and the few that knew about it died long ago. As the AI on station start decrypting it together, a power surge flows through the station, causing the generators to maulfunction. As soon as power comes back up a strange event occurs; The AI have all dissappeared without a trace.
It seems as if their decryption was partially succesful. We find out that the project revolves around a mysterious signal coming from what appeared to be a spacial disturbance caused by a black hole, but was actually a massive cloaking field spanning several lightyears. The signal of unknown origin was slowed by subspace anomolies, causing the This will embark the station personnal on several exploratory skirmishes within the field. (Dont worry the AI will be found again so ppl dont complain)


Several titles to spark ideas about the direction this can take
1. Through the mist
2. An s.o.s. from the SOS
3. Dawnbreaker
4. A second chance
5. RAD's End

Full details will need to be brainstormed out, obviously this server has too many factions to ensure everybody has equal fun and sometimes you'll have to join forces with people you dont like.

So all I care about is a peek into your creative mind, I will say this that I didn't get much from the event that you put into your application. You have an interesting idea but there was a lack of detail there that I feel was necessary to take it to the next level.

1. You mentioned a Project yet didn't give a name to the project. There are still a good amount of players that have been with ONI for some time and they know all the projects that have occurred for years. One way to fix this in the future is don't be afraid to talk to a senior person and ask for an old document that could steer you in the right direction. this will do many things, it would make it more personal to the people within ONI that will have a connection to that project and its something that you are building on in the server lore for future events.

2. You have a lot of AI on the server and you explained that they all disappeared. That is a very interesting idea but there is a hole in that play due to the fact that you have some very powerful AI in the sector I.E. Praetor and Lucifer. Are these AI affected too or are they exempt?

3. You mentioned Mysterious signals, Spacial Dispercials, Cloaking Fields and Black Holes. There is a whole lot going on there but it's not packaged neatly in a good description of what is to come. I know that this is just a rudimentary idea for an event but still I was hoping for you to bring more to the table as you have a good hook but nothing explaining how you are going to keep the player's attention.

4. You mentioned several exploratory skirmishes within the field. I'm going, to be honest, sir this sounds like you are planning on filling time with waves of NPC without a plan or purpose, just jumping from location to location. Again I could be terribly wrong but you should plan out each skirmish so that there is a reason behind each, an objective if you would, not just killing NPCs after NPCs.

I Scored a "0" sir because I read Mr. Lee's comment and it sounds like there is more than you do bring to the table by your actions. I'm a firm believer on actions speak louder then words and Mr. Lee is a good judge of character that is the only reason I didn't put "-1" sir. I advise you to sit down and flesh out your story a little bit and add more detail.

I want to thank you for your constructive criticism, I definitely take it to heart and appreciate your comments.
I'm going to try and keep my answers short.

You are correct in saying that this is a rudimentary idea and brainstorm that I wrote in 10 minutes due to helping out with an event, thus i did not bother to expand into details.

As for 'keeping the player interested, with me that starts by interviewing every division head and asking them 'What does your unit want to do?'
We have too many 'allround' divisions who can basicly do every job.

You are right to point me on my lorefacts, since im new i am not aware of all the custom lore that this server upholds, so organizing an event would require me to read logs and have people review it.

It is important to note that in both GM meetings i attended (not sure if you were there) it was mentioned by me and several of your colleagues that there are plenty 'Writers' and 'Storytellers' but a lack of structure and teamwork. My motives for becoming GM is to help out on that department which is often dearly needed. I have had the honor raising my voice in two meetings and assisting in 3 events (not including the ones I've joined in character), so i've got a fairly good idea of what is going on behind the scenes and where there is room for improvement. Long story short; I dont think that the server needs yet another fulltime storywriter, maybe a GM support role? Food for thought.

On one side I like the challenge of giving you a quality storyline that you'll enjoy to read because OOC Im a soundtrack composer, halo lore fan and creative handyman, but i strongly feel that the intent of this application did not come across...
To flesh out my story would defeat the point of me signing up in the first place.
You have the right to judge purely on a creative mind and I thank you for your time, i really do, but my desire for this position is purely to help out, not because I desire to become a writer or the best storyline the server has to offer. Purely on that you may deny my application and I would have peace with it.

You took criticism and instead of lashing it you formulated an educated response. That is a strong attribute in the GameMaster community.

You acknowledged that you do have things to work on and humbled yourself to the fact that there is more out there for you to observer and learn. Not only that but you opened yourself up expelressing your desire to be better and grow further.

And you are absolutely right sir. Not everyone is a gamemaster right now and the fact that you are willing to work with the game makers as a support element is more valuable then you know.

However. They need to learn how to use ULX, a vital asset to the GM system.
