Specific Gear, and/or abilities((Biotic abilities, Implants, and biotic abilities are application ONLY)) : Whatever is given by New Eden in terms of gear, abilities would be knowing how to hack, repair or construct (with proper materials and help) electronics or electricity systems.

Characters Backstory((The longer, and more detailed the backstory, the most likely you will be accepted.)) : Kaisu was born in 2167 to the city of Tornio, Finland. Her life began in confusion, with her mother dying a few days after her birth, leaving her to an emotionally torn, now-alcoholic father. In a way, her childhood consisted of only a strange state of limbo, a stretch between being born and a vague sense of maturity, with nothing in the middle; the latter of which, she strained to ever reach.
Growing in a large city with a vacant-minded, alcoholic father, she was left with more freedom than most children. This is something she only became aware of later on, somewhere between the endless talk of the war in the Skyllian Verge, anti-Batarian propaganda highlighting the pirate raids on human colonies, and on the less political side, puberty.
Of course, she took advantage of the absence of her father to spend more time with what little friends she had. She excelled in mathematics and computer science in school, with average to mediocre grades in other topics. As time bore on, her friends dwindled through dropping out, moving away, or simply growing apart. Her social life was, as a result, reduced to her computer at home, which she communicated on esoteric chat rooms, forums, or imageboards with. This didn't go unnoticed by her father, who resented that she never seemed to leave home, especially after graduation.
She managed to get an internship for electrical engineering, something she knew decently well, but not loathing nor adoring the field. In her spare time, her connection to the web became somewhat toxic, exposing her to cybercrime in the form of hacking, coding a few malicious programs for fun, and learning how to extract information from the web. Her skills in hardware, software, and the wiring in between were honed, however she could only ever be noted for her achievements as an electrical engineer and occasional IT assistant.
In early 2186, she signed up for New Eden, hoping to leave Earth and all of it's misgivings behind. Her new life in space, working at what she does best, sounded like a dream to her. However, soon after she was aboard a New Eden ship, Reapers attacked Earth, and Tornio was one of the more industrialized, urban areas, the type that was targeted specifically. The loss of her father, though he was on less than nice terms with her, struck her with grief. Being alone was no longer a lack of face-to-face friends, but also now a total lack of family. With nothing to lose and nothing to return to, she stayed with New Eden. Due to an overflow of techs and engineers, she was eventually transferred to The Icarus, effectively maintaining electrical and computational systems.
What is your characters goal aboard the ship? Why were they hired by New Eden? : Kaisu originally held a simple goal of earning her paycheck, but after losing her only family to a Reaper attack, working for New Eden became much more personal for her. Due to her loss, the safety of humanity is something she takes to heart. Kaisu’s mathematical ability and work as an electrical engineer may have caught the eye of New Eden, with the added bonus of unspoken hacking skills.
