My experience on this server

So, im one of the older players on the server, as many of you may know. I donated for supporter back before it was even called revival, ive been here for maybe 1 and a half years, i remember when SoS was first put on the server.
Anyway, thats not the reason im posting this. Im here to share my experiences here.
From being a Cpl in Sierra ODST squad, to being a 2ndLt in charge of marines, ive done just about everything.
I remember when ODSTs were the minge squads, and saying "ODST is not a mingey job" could get you kicked.
I remember when Marine support had rocket launchers, and later C4.
I remember when DIs were first introduced, and everyone mistook them for Zulu.
I remember when the best weapons the spartans had was a pistol, so it was all they would use.
I remember Jenkins picking MPs from Kilo and only Kilo
With all this stuff ive seen and all the squads ive been in, ive always gone back to marines. Its just so much fun to lead groups like that, to watch and yell at spartans for shooting my marines in the back of the head with their over-powered pistols.
Despite how even people who have been around for a fraction of my time may be higher ranks, and i stay at lower ranks, i will always try and keep the marines on this server in mind.
Because frankly, its where i belong.
Thanks to all the marines who stick around and train the new players.

I remember way back my zulu xo gave some new guy the support job and he blew everyone up at debrief. Yeah, i can understand why thats not a thing anymore

Wasn't our only viable weapon later a fucking halo 5 assault rifle and that pistol.

One of my favorite moments was an apollo sharpshooter telling me how useless his sniper is and then 1 shotting me with his pistol

He got banned because the server was breaking away from nomad networks and Sanctuary, and i guess he did something against that.
Great dude, but anyone found to be "supporting" him was also banned.
I don't know, shit was tense while it was all going down, so a lot of stuff like that happened.

The guy who got demoted from 2ndLt to GySgt for inactivity and has been slowly climbing since (and i do mean slowly)
EDIT: For real it seems really hard to get promoted as a marine now.

EDIT: For real it seems really hard to get promoted as a marine now.

I mean the promotion day system has been totally thrown out the window. If anything it’s easier than ever to be promoted. Maybe not for everyone, but hopefully on this upcoming Sunday we can work things out.

Its easier for me to get people promoted, but there's hardly anyone who can do anything to get me promoted right now.
Still, i'm glad its easier for new people to get promoted.

Back when this guy is talking, Prowler, valk, and last chancers werent even a thought. Shields weren't implemented, so even spartans had only armor. the NPCs can hit you from across the map with a magnum, and ODSTs and Whiskey were on the same playing field for equipment and health.

I do what i can to keep people in the good ol' marines
but there are so many squads that just... not that.
at all.
Might as well be tanks, honestly. Whereas we die quickly they don't die even if they rush in first and entirely alone.
