Roleplay
We all know it, we all love it, we all want to do it, and yet we all do it wrong. So for those ninety percent of people overall both Halo and SCP that ask the question, well Kai how does one improve in roleplay?
2. Make a backstory, when it comes to developing your character you will be out there making history with each connection but-... what is your history before you embarked on this setting? What do I mean exactly? Lets take Halo for example you can be a sangheili and be part of the SoS but your character can't reflect on the past in SoS if you didn't make a past for your character so in forums there is sections for factions that allows you to make a character backstory, and it will gave you a template of what you can do and I suggest filling the entire backstory template out to define your character more take mine for example that was for Mass Effect Roleplay.
3. Practice typing sentences and expand your vocabulary, as a Serious Roleplayer I know that the minimum amount of lines for a complete action for a Serious Roleplay now hear me out it-... it is more than three complete sentences in order to be a valid action. Don't stress, because this limit is done for a reason because as you type your creativity sets in and you will want to add more to define this action but don't repeat yourself over and over use those big words to help you stand out and be a better roleplayer.
4. Relations, to develop your character you must make connections with others and it is important to have a level of relationship with them all what do I mean? Well one can be your enemy, one can be your wife, one can be your brother, basically what do other characters around you mean to your character? This will help your character to be more open in terms of being able to connect and able to roleplay with others.
5. Play your cons out, every character well I mean everyone in this world has their negatives and weaknesses, and they have their fears. For your character to be real to others it must have cons or else a guy that seems "perfect" isn't real and isn't just ideal at all.
6. Take examples and advice from others, if other people say things that you don't know about listen to it and see if you can learn a few things from them.
7. Know your terms, OOC (Out of Character) in your mind OOC will always be this symbol "//" well actually there is more symbols such as [], (), and || those are all OOC symbols, know that ERP is Erotic Roleplay, FRP is Fail Roleplay, URP is Unreal RP, PG is Powergaming, and IC is In-Character.
Q/A
