So I've been an avid fan of the Halo books for a while, and in a lot of ways they inspired me to do a lot of my own writing. Not everything I write, has to do with Halo, and I really prefer custom universes and concepts to play around in. I personally disliked fan-fiction for its negative stigma, but in the context of this server it was relatively easy to look past this one time. This piece was part of a larger character backstory I was writing during its lifetime, of basically a collection of short stories highlighting the important character moments of this Elite's life. This Elite was an SoS member by the name of Fenix Velsam, and was the Ranger lead quite some time ago. (Though he is called Enix in this story due to other elements of his character and history, and most Elites have a hard time with the annunciation of the letter F.)
Like I said, this was meant to be a part of a larger chronology of this character, but I've made a handful of adjustments to make this into a better standalone short story. Without further ado; here it is. It is pretty lengthy at seven pages, so read at your own risk.

Have you ever thought about adapting any of your stories into a tabletop game like halo mythic or the such?

I've never had experiences with the genre, besides the passing mention from some people I know. Besides the basic concepts, I've never had an experience with table tops/D&D. I do the game-making job for Halo, so a lot of what I do creatively comes out there or in basic writing.
