Backstory

"There is no such things as heroes, only people."

My tag name is "Hyacinth" this wasn't always my tag name but I only continued someone's honor, and this is my story. (Will finish soon, the story will be completed once I hit 8000 words.)

[Prolouge - I've Seen It All]

The sound of clattering claws against the glass protective window attacking the armored warthog as flood surrounded the vehicle, with the sound of a greying brown hair man yelling into his radio as the warthog was rumbled side to side, and a pelican's waves throughout the sky approaching the estranged attack.

"Come in, this is November 2-1 Hyacinth of the UNSC Starship Cruiser Nova, can you read me? Please do you fucking read me?"

The man would be wearing an old dog tag pertaining to a Nike Special Ops Squad member named "Hyacinth" presumed to be his but the date didn't match his age, a bloodied worn-out old marine vest that only covered his chest, abdomen but not his arms which were only covered with a sealed suit, an ODST shoulder guard, and carrying an M7 Tactical knife in his wristguard that he obtained from a Spartan-IV he once knew. Wounds scattered all around his face, bruises, and cuts. Hyacinth was 48 at this time, and the last noise he heard before the flood ran off was the sound of a large explosion that sent the warthog flipping over crushing some flood as it knocked out the man, and entering his dreams as the warthog was left alone flipped over on the deserts of the abandoned colony. He dreamt of how this all led him up to here.

[Tieing The Boots - Chapter One]
"All starts here."

Onboard of the UNSC Starship Cruiser "Nova", I sat on the storage box of November 2-1 Bunks, the sounds of morning yawns, boots crashing against the ground, and equipment being manhandled by fellow marines around, it was my first day. If the first day of school can be stressful, the first day of being enlisted is hell, the nerves destroying your 20-year-old brain, and nothing else mattered other than the standards to be upheld as a marine. I was tieing my boots, rather dull even though I just got them as every higher-up above you always liked their boots shined but us privates rather did not care. The normal sounds of footsteps marching throughout the door of the bunks as I lagged behind to follow through, I was still tieing these damn boots.
That was when he came over, the sounds of someone marching towards my bunk, and the boots came up to my view as in front of me had to stand as a special-ops Nike Squad member who came into the bunks. His deep voice penetrated throughout my ears as my eyes scanned up to see his name-tag "Hyacinth", he didn't have his helmet on, a blonde-hair, green-eyed male with a square head, a pointed nose, and scars riddled down his left eye.

"Private are you fucking stupid? Can you not fucking tie your damn boots?" He said.
"No sir I can!" I'd yell back, not knowing what rank he was.

It was very hard to tell, it seemed as if his dark blue suit was too dark to tell the glass-covered insignia, was it glass, hell I don't know. I quickly manifested not a tie but a loop around the other strings of my boot, I know I said I could, truth is I couldn't. He noticed he was disapproved, but he laughed anyway, something about him. I got into the line outside of our bunks looking towards the man commanding us, and fuck-... it was Hyacinth. Fucking hell. That's when another private nudged my shoulder and whispered. "You new here as well, I just got here yesterday, and I already want to shit myself." I couldn't myself but chuckle and that's when Hyacinth looked at the both us, he brought us out of line into the simulation room. We were forced to do laps with the other private who I had a genuine conversation with, his name was Barry.

"Well, that was a shit show sorry for this," Barry said with a small chuckle.
"No problems man, fuck him."
"You're right he is a fucking douche but that's what Master Sergeants are supposed to do."

That's great he was a master sergeant. I probably fucked up our entire career together, and he did too but you know I couldn't care less. Once we finished our laps I was able to make a great friendship with Barry, and be a horrible private to Hyacinth, and many weeks passed I still was a private but nothing would ever be the same afterward.

[Chapter 2 - "For a Dream"]
"Tragedy will strike eventually."

Tuesday, March 3rd, we all woke up to the sound of Hyacinth wanting for a training to start. Guess what? I learned how to tie my boots. We all got into the routine march and headed towards the simulation room. He divided us all into squads with a different leader. I was in his squad, we were going to do a squad bounding training. There was only three of us on the squad. We all got to the barricades. The sound of the simulation targets yelling. The voice of Hyacinth then saying.

"Let the training begin."

Those words unintentionally started it all, the sirens blared in the ship, and words telling many to run echoed through the simulation room. It was a code red, nothing exactly was clear, I followed Hyacinth he led us four into a hallway it was an emergency corridor to the ODST drop-pods. There wasn't any around, most of them were used except for a few, I was too scared to die, I ran into one of the drop-pods, and so did Hyacinth, and the few other marines but not all of them got to get on one. The frigate made its final attempt at warping into a nearby planet, and the drop-pods had to make it's shot before it was too late, and so they launched. I couldn't see what was going on, this was an improper launch, and we can just die in these drops-pods all I remember seeing is the frigate I was once in getting blown out of the sky-... nothing was left of it afterward, and I was knocked out.

I suffered through Writer's Block but I was able to finish the prologue and only a tiny bit of Chapter-One.
